Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is set to continue its winning streak in Telangana by bagging eight to 10 Lok Sabha seats out of 17 in the State in the upcoming General Elections, according to a pre-poll survey carried out by Hyderabad-based Peoples Pulse in association with South First.
Congress party stormed to power in the State in the recent Assembly polls, edging out BRS. It won just 3 MP seats in the 2019 polls
The first South First-Peoples Pulse Tracker Poll for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has given two to four seats to BJP which won four seats in the last elections. Despite the euphoria over the Ram temple, the saffron party is unlikely to better its 2019 performance, the survey revealed. The BRS which ruled the State for a decade before losing out to Congress in November last will have to be content with just three to five seats, down from nine last time. Peoples Pulse, a poll-research organisation, conducted the poll between February 11 and 17 with a total sample size of 4,600. As per the survey, Congress which secured 39.4 per cent votes in the Assembly elections, is predicted to get 40 per cent votes. On the other hand, the BJP may register an increased vote share, from 13.9% in the Assembly polls to 23 per cent in the Lok Sabha elections.
